Week 7 had 4, 6, and 8 mile week day runs. I knocked those out pretty well. When I got to the 8 mile run I really started to feel the grind of the longer weekday runs. The miles were really increasing and I had to make sure I left time to get my runs in and do them before it got dark.
My Saturday long run was 20 miles. I knew I needed to start early because I was having guests over that afternoon so my time was limited. I started on my own again on the trails and then I met Kim. I did 9 miles ahead, about 5 on the more hardcore trails and then 4 on the horse trail. We did 8 miles together. And then I did a loop around the town center before heading back to my car. I felt pretty good and it was exciting to complete a two digit run that started with a 2!
On Sunday I met my friend at Riverbend Park but we ran to Great Falls. I didn’t really bother to pay a lot of attention to which trails are on the course so we hit some but didn’t intentionally run them. We actually ended up doing a harder section that is on the 50 miler course but not on the 50k. We had a lot of fun and worked our way through some really hilly sections.
Overall it was a good week of training.
